Ricoh Pro VC70000 earns Fogra certification

March 7, 2022  By PrintAction Staff

The Ricoh Pro VC70000 is the only market available continuous feed inkjet press to hold prestigious Fogra Validation Printing System (VPS) certification.

Fogra is one of the leading research centres for the printing industry. Fogra VPS stringent testing assesses if systems that produce a hard copy validation print, directly from digital data, conform to the ISO 12647-8 standard. It considers a broad range of criteria including proofing, substrate colour and gloss, colour accuracy, light fastness, and compliance with the PDF/X standard.

Fogra approved the Ricoh Pro VC70000 for conforming to the ISO 12647-8 standard in two different printing conditions:

  • Fogra59 (updated Exchange Colour Space for large colour gamut printers).
  • Fogra51 (for ISO 12647-2:2013 printing on Premium Coated paper).

The recognition for the Ricoh Pro VC70000 follows Fogra certifications for the Ricoh Pro C9200, Ricoh Pro C7200 and Ricoh Pro C5300 colour sheetfed presses.

Ricoh’s Customer Experience Centre, in Telford, UK, received FograCert ProcessStandard Digital (PSD) PrintCheck Digital certifications with the Ricoh Pro VC70000. The 12-month certification certifies Ricoh’s colour accuracy capability and print run consistency, according to Fogra PSD specifications – ISO/TS 15311-2.

Christian Haneke, Innovation & Solutions Manager at Sattler Premium Print, said, “We are delighted that our Pro VC70000 is now Fogra certified. It allows us to continue our expansion into the commercial print market and produce jobs in inkjet that would previously only have been possible with toner or offset.”
